Although the conferees entered RYLA without knowing a lot of people, they grew together as one. This was because of the team ice breakers. By using simple games about randomly making noise to a hyped up version of rock, paper, scissors; the counselors were able to help the conferees make new friends and get comfortable with everyone. When the groups first tried playing the ice breakers together it resulted in a massive game called extreme rock, paper, scissors. Even though the conferees were hesitant at first, the next ice breaker opened everyone up, and eventually screaming random noises in a circle became only natural. By doing these team ice breakers, the groups began to work better cooperatively and a more supportive environment was formed overall.
